This antique piggy bank is from the 1930’s-1950’s and is a handmade and hand painted souvenir made of chalk-ware clay.

Dimensions:
6 1/2” Tall
6” Long
3” Wide

The Mexican villages of Tonala and Tlaquepaque were known for the people’s craftsmanship and cultural skills. The villages were located near the clay resources. They would produce these banks and other items to sell to American Tourists.

The bank is very old and the antique character is enhanced by where paint has flaked off. There is some wear and a few dings but it is to be expected on a vintage piece like this and the softer pottery that it is made of.

You just can not create new pieces with the authentic character this Little Pig has!
